Young Stars at Heart (YSAH) 2012

First Year 2012

Young Stars at Heart was created by sisters Margaret Atkins and June Lawrence. At first it was just a way to get their friends, that were over 50, together and have a bit of a sing-a-long and hopefully get a chance to preform. It wasn’t long before YSAH became very popular and we were doing up to 10 shows a year. Margaret and June wrote and directed the shows for 7 years until Margaret, after the death of June, decided she needed a break. In 2019 the show was cowritten and directored by Margaret, Val Ives and Helen Smith. Margaret asked me, Deborah Beck-Boyd, if I would take over with her support and with the help of many people, namely Juliet Watt and John Beck we have managed to keep the group going. Over the years we have many people come and go from the group, but still have some of the original cast member. Unfortunately we had to have a break for 2 years due to Covid but were back up and running in 2023.
